The primary charitable object of the Trust is the promotion of the Arts.

Founded in 1993, the Trustees will have eventual responsibility for the care of all the extant works of the artist Evelyn Williams which are willed to them on her death.

The Trust is funded by a modest income from an endowment and by support from interested individuals.

The Trustees have been active since the Trust's inception in financing year long Fellowships in Art Schools to enable an artist to become resident and encourage drawing among the students.

It is currently the Trustees intention to aid and assist young artists to complete their studies or to embark on projects by the occasional award of scholarships.

The first award was made in 2007 to Miriam Cuddy to meet the full fee element of her Drawing MA at Wimbledon College of Art. In 2008 a similar award was made to Beatrice Fox and in 2009 to Susannah Morgan.

The Trustees are currently considering their future policy.
